UKSF

The UKSF was created in January 2025 as a new unified industry body representing the interests of processors and traders and incorporating the previous activities of the Seafood Industry Alliance (SIA) and the Seafood Grimsby and Humber Alliance (SGHA). Our mission to be the sector’s voice in making seafood a bigger part of the British diet, for a healthier nation and planet.

Our Mission is ‘To be the voice of the UK Industry in making Seafood a bigger part of the British Diet, for a healthier Nation and Planet.’ With a focus on 5 key strategic areas; Skills & Talent, Ethics & Sustainability, Industry Integrity & Reputation, Smooth & Efficient Trade Flows and Communication & Engagement

We bring together businesses which supply own label and branded products to retailers to a value of around £4 billion a year, with a further £6 billion in sales to foodservice and other customers. We directly employ nearly 17,000 people, with a further 2,500 part time and seasonal workers.

From a seafood processing and trading perspective (not catching or aquaculture) our members represent around 80% of total supply of own label and branded seafood products to retailers, caterers and restaurants. The majority operate in coastal community areas in the Humber, in North East Scotland and on the East Coast.
